Aims and objectives

The aim of this project is to disclose the influence of the processes of designing, provision and awarding of these qualifications and the impact of socioeconomic, institutional and cultural context of these processes to the comparability and compatibility of the qualifications in the construction, hospitality and metalworking sectors of Lithuania, France, Austria, Slovenia, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.  This aim will be achieved through the following objectives:

1. To analyse and compare the influences of the process of designing of qualifications on the differences of the structure and contents of the descriptors of selected qualifications of construction, hospitality and metalworking sectors in the project partners’ countries. This analysis will consider the influences of the approaches of designing of qualifications, political-institutional  aspects of the designing of qualifications, organisation of the designing process, involvement of the stakeholders in the designing of qualifications and their activeness, the legal status and application of the designed descriptors of qualifications.

2. To analyse and compare the influences of the process of provision of qualifications on the differences of the structure and contents between the designed and the provided (or acquired) qualifications of construction and hospitality and metalworking sectors in the partners countries. This analysis will consider the influences of the differences in the curriculum design, applied training methods, relationships between theoretical and practical training, level of autonomy of the trainees and students in the learning process, organization of the practical training and its relations with the real workplaces, quality of the infrastructure of training and studies, as well as the level of teachers’, trainers’ and professors’ qualifications.

3.  To analyse and compare the influences of the process of assessment of acquired competences and learning outcomes on the specificities of the selected qualifications of construction and hospitality and metalworking sectors in the project partners countries. This analysis will consider the influences of the applied competences’ assessment methods, involvement of the different institutions and stakeholders in the process of assessment of competences, the possibilities to assess the informally and non-formally acquired competences, quality assurance measures applied in the process of assessment of competences.

4. To analyse and compare the influences of the process of awarding of qualifications on the differences of selected qualifications of construction,  hospitality, metalworking sectors in the project partners countries. This analysis will consider the influences of the institutional organisation of awarding, legal framework of awarding of qualifications, the role of social stakeholders and providers of qualifications in awarding of qualifications.

5. Referring to the results of accomplished research to draw the recommendations for the implementation of the EQF and its application in comparing sectoral qualifications between the EU countries.
